Columbia College Chicago’s label, AEMMP Records, has been hard at work for 30 years bringing the spotlight to underground artists throughout the campus and beyond! In addition to attending SXSW, Digital Distribution had no choice but to raise the bar on the spring compilation, Sound Bytes.Taking its name from the variety of genres represented throughout the course, Sound Bytes encapsulates the different musical tastes of Chicago. It includes tracks from Errol Hem, Jordan Burk, Dowsing, A Prophet of Pirates, Biiko, Melinda Suarez, J Harmony, Two Houses, and Deem. Furthermore, three different students have launched businesses, including a record label, a multimedia site, and a promotional entertainment company. It’s safe to say this semester has fallen nothing short of legendary for AEMMP Digital Distribution. Need proof? Take a listen!
